Please read the letter below that I got from my best friend in the whole world. Then please help out in this noble cause.
Dear friends and family,
I am writing this letter to share some important news with you, as well
as to ask for your support! I have recently registered for the San
Diego Breast Cancer 3-Day. This is a 60 mile walk over the course of 3
days which raises money for breast cancer research. The net proceeds
support the combined efforts of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer
Foundation and the National Philanthropic Trust (NPT) Breast Cancer
Fund. I will be embarking on this very special journey with a team of
14 and almost 6,000 other individuals who are also dedicated to this
very important cause.
All of the 3-Day walkers have a story to tell about their reasons for
walking (or perhaps in my case, crawling) 60 miles to raise money for
breast cancer research. For me, breast cancer has become more and more
personal as I have watched an increasing number of close friends during
the course of the year experience the diagnosis, various treatments,
and
courageous decisions. Bringing home cooked meals to their families
made
me feel useful for a period of time, but more recently I have really
yearned for a way to do more. When my friend asked me to take this
walk
with her, I realized that this was one of the ways I could make a
difference. Walking 20 miles per day for 3 days may become
uncomfortable or even painful, however it is nothing compared to what
some of my friends have experienced.
So, this is my plea for both your emotional and financial support. As
a
condition of my participation in the San Diego 3-Day, I must raise
$2,100. The staff members of the 3-Day have made it very easy to
donate
either online or by writing a check. I know that all of us are asked
to
support many different causes during the course of the year, so any
amount that you may be willing to give will help me reach my goal while
also supporting a wonderful cause.
Donating is simple!
Just go to www.the3day.org <http://www.the3day.org/> and click on "San
Diego," then "Donate."
Type in my first and last name JoJo Treadwell.
Click the link to my homepage and follow the directions.
If you would prefer to write a check, please fill out the attached
donation form and make your check out to Breast Cancer 3-Day. All
check
payments are accepted with an attached donation form. The address for
mailing in a check is printed on the donation form.
This promises to be an unforgettable challenge for me! I look forward
to telling you all about it. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
Love,
JoJo
